LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.88 g, 7 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ME-TA Ear of barley with leaf to right; to left, kerykeion above ΛY. HN Italy 1556. Johnston Class A, 1.8. Beautifully toned. The obverse struck somewhat off center and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, about extremely fine.
